Good People Brewing Pale Ale 8.59/6-pack 12 oz. cans
From Birmingham. Brewery notes: "our take on the Pale Ale is medium bodied and not overly hoppy. A blue-collar attitude with just a touch of down home hospitality, our flagship is a complex, versatile offering that is good for all occasions. It is at home at the tailgate, cutting the grass, or at that dinner party you were forced to attend. American Cascade hops are all full flavor display. A balanced mix of malts create biscuit and caramel flavors to balance it all out and keep you coming back for more. IBU-38. 5.8% ABV."
Flat 12 Bier Werks Half Cycle IPA 9.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "The Half Cycle is so named due to its marriage of single and double IPA characteristics. In baseball parlance, a single and double is half of 'the cycle', and this IPA is a heavy hitter. It's a single IPA, hopped like a double, with an over-the-top hop character that’s a bit spicy, citrusy, piney, you make the call. Light in color, but not on flavor, Half Cycle is dry hopped with a pound of high alpha American hops in every barrel." Ratebeer 92, Beer Advocate 87. Style: American IPA. Alcohol 6.0% ABV, IBU-104.
Flat 12 Bier Werks Pogue's Run Porter 9.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "The Flat12 Porter is inspired by the robust porters favored by the Industrial-age working men of Europe. We chose to emphasize balance from a combination of dark grains including brown malt, which was the primary roasted grain of the time. This Flat12 creation is smooth and balanced with slight roast and chocolate notes, yet it's not heavy, just like a good porter should be." Ratebeer 91, Beer Advocate 90. Style: American Porter. Alcohol 5.5% ABV, IBU-34.1.
Flat 12 Bier Werks Hello My Name Is Amber 9.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "Hoppier than its English cousins this American amber ale will have you saying 'Jolly good show' when the maltiness rolls across the palate and locks fingers with the spicy hop finish. Hopped to the top end of the style, Flat12's amber ale maintains its composed American character throughout." Beer Advocate 85. Style: American Amber/Red Ale. Alcohol 5.8% ABV, IBU-42.7.
Lagunitas IPA 8.59/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "Lagunitas IPA was formulated (in 1995) with malt and hops working together to balance it all out on your 'buds so you can knock back more than one without wearing yourself out. Big on the aroma with a hoppy-sweet finish that'll leave you wanton' another sip." 6.2% ABV. Beer Advocate 87 points. Ratebeer 94 points.

Left Hand Milk Stout 10.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "This English style of beer, also known as Sweet Stout or Cream Stout, first appeared in London in the late 1800’s. The early brewers touted the health benefits of the milk sugar in this beer which today relates mainly to the increased amount of calories(no real health benefits…sorry). The milk sugar adds a well rounded sweetness to this dark beer and makes it an outstanding, year ‘round stout." Beer Advocate rated B+ (88). Style: Milk/Sweet Stout. Alcohol: 6.0%. IBU-25. Colorado. Also available at the same price: Juju Gunger, Sawtooth Ale, Strayer Pale Ale.
Highland Brewing Gaelic Ale 9.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles

Moerlein Northern Liberties IPA India Pale Ale 8.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "You’ve made a discovery--a well-hopped IPA inspired by the revolutionaries of Cincinnati’s Northern Liberties. North of Liberty St. and beyond the reach of municipal law, the area was known for tolerance of beliefs and behaviors, which were shunned in Cincinnati proper prior to 1849. Moerlein Northern Liberties draws inspiration from these free-spirits with this hoppy, well-balanced, copper IPA in pursuit of Life, Liberty, and Hoppiness." Beer Advocate rated B (82). Style: American IPA. Alcohol: 6.3%. IBU-65. Ohio. Also available at the same price: OTR (Over The Rhine).
Bluegrass Brewing BBC Nut Brown Ale 7.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "BBC Nut Brown Ale has a diverse grain bill which lends this traditional English ale a variety of flavors that coalesce into a remarkably smooth and pleasant drink. Additions of various pale, caramel and dark malts create a smooth, sweet malt profile with hints of roasted nuttiness. Kentucky. Also available at the same price: American Pale Ale, Dark Star Porter.
Bard's Sorghum Malt Beer 9.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "The original sorghum malt beer. Bard's gold. Contains no wheat, rye or oats. Discuss it over a Bard's. There are no lulls in a Bard's conversation, only pauses for drinking. Why? Because Bard's is brewed in the knowledge that a barstool is a pulpit and a round pub table is, well, a roundtable. As the original sorghum beer and the only beer in the universe that's brewed with malted sorghum, this nigh-magical formula appeals to anyone who likes goodness, freedom and camaraderie. Let us rise as one - and then sit back down and solve the world's problems over a Bard's. Because we don't believe in shortcuts, we go a step beyond other gluten-free brewers by malting the grain to give Bard's a fuller flavor and richer aroma. The result is a classic American beer. Made in USA." Beer Advocate rated C (75). Style: American Pale Ale. New York.
Brooklyn Brewing Brown Ale 8.39/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "Brooklyn Brown Ale, made exclusively with American ingredients, won Bronze medals at the Great American Beer Festival in the Strong Ale Category in 1991 and in the American Brown Ale Category in 1992. Style: American Brown Ale. Alcohol: 5.6%. IBU-30. New York. Also available at the same price: Lager, Pennent Ale, Winter Ale (Seasonal).
Kentucky Ale 8.29/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "Kentucky Ale is a marriage between two classic beer styles, Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. The Kentucky Ale mashing program uses: the finest 2-row imported Harrington malt, select caramel malt varieties grown both domestically and abroad, a pinch of wheat malt for a smooth, creamy taste. Varieties of the English hops East Kent Goldings and Fuggles impart a spicy yet soft, floral aroma without a harsh, bitter aftertaste. These ale hops are used to balance the sweetness of the malt and are an important flavor component of Kentucky Ale. Light copper in color, the unique body and character of Kentucky Ale is heavily influenced by the water, drawn from aquifers in the limestone underlying the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky." Beer Advocate rated C (76). Style: English Pale Ale. Alcohol: 5.34%. Kentucky.
Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat 8.49/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "If you've ever experienced a Northwoods sunset, you know it's a moment unlike any other. New Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale 8.39/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "Named in honor of our co-founder's bike trip through Europe, Fat Tire Amber Ale marks a turning point in the young electrical engineer's home brewing. Belgian beers use a far broader palette of ingredients (fruits, spices, esoteric yeast strains) than German or English styles. Together with co-founder, Kim Jordan, they traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tire won fans with its sense of balance: toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness." Beer Advocate rated B (82). Style: American Amber/Red Ale. Alcohol: 5.2%. IBU-19. Colorado. Also available at the same price: 1554, Sunshine Wheat, Blue Paddle.
Saranac Black and Tan 7.69/6-pack 12 oz. bottles

Brewery notes: "Brewed for Dixie Brewing by Joseph Huber during the breweries renovation. Brewed in the EU as well." Beer Advocate rated C+ (78). Style: Schwarzbier: "German for black beer. It doesn't mean that it's necessarily heavy or light in body, although they tend to lean towards light. Unlike other dark beers, like porters or stouts, they are not overly bitter with burnt and roasted malt characteristics that the others tend to depend on. Instead, hops are used for a good portion of the bitterness. Very refreshing and soul lifting beers, they also make a great alternative for the Winter." - Beer Advocate. Alcohol: 5.0%. Louisiana. Also available at the same price: Lager, Jazz Amber Light.
Flying Dog Old Scratch Amber Lager 9.79/6-pack 12 oz. bottles

Beer Advocate rated D (65). Style: Fruit/Vegetable Beer. Alcohol: 5.75%. Wisconsin.
Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan 9.29/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale is the first beer in the world, to our knowledge, made with whole roasted pecans. The pecans are used just like grain and provide a nutty characteristic and a delightful depth to the flavor profile. This beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. The color is dark mahogany. Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category." Beer Advocate rated B (85). Style: English Brown Ale: "Spawned from the Mild Ale, Brown Ales tend to be maltier and sweeter on the palate, with a fuller body. Color can range from reddish brown to dark brown. Schlafly Dry Hopped APA Ale 8.39/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "Our Dry Hopped American Pale Ale (APA) is charged with American hops to create a bold, aromatic ale. Assertive hop flavor joins the pine/citrus aroma characteristic of American hops to balance the full body provided by North American malts. After fermentation, the beer circulates through a bed of whole-cone Cascade and Chinook hops, boosting the distinctive hop aroma of this satisfying ale. In the long view of the history of beer, American Pale Ale is a newcomer. Based on English Pale Ale, American brewers adapted this style into something new. Born out of the reverence English Pale Ales during the 1980s American beer scene, APA is the bold, hoppier cousin of Pale Ale." Beer Advocate rated B (86). Style: American Pale Ale. Alcohol: 5.9%. Victory Headwaters Pale Ale 10.49/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We will be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we've had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale." Beer Advocate rated B+ (88). Style: American Pale Ale. Alcohol: 5.2%. Pennsylvania. Also available at the same price: Prima Pilsner, Lager, Summer Love Ale.
Anchor Steam Beer 11.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Beer Advocate rated B+ (87). Alcohol: 4.9%. Style: California Common/Steam Beer. Beer Advocate: "The California Common, or Steam Beer, is a unique 100% American style lager. It's usually brewed with a special strain of lager yeast that works better at warmer temperatures. This method dates back to the late 1800's in California when refrigeration was a great luxury. The brewers back then had to improvise to cool the beer down, so shallow fermenters were used. So in a way the lager yeast was trained to ferment quicker at warmer temperatures. Today's examples are light amber to tawny in color, medium bodied with a malty character. Mildly fruity with an assertive hop bitterness. Anchor Brewing Co. trademarked the term Steam Beer and as such all other beers must be legally referred to as California Common." Brewery notes: "is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. Samuel Adams Alpine Spring 8.39/6-pack 12 oz. bottles

The beer is matured, unbunged (beer is exposed), in deep vaults. The final product is a smooth, naturally cloudy beer that's rich in vitamins (from the yeast). Hop bitterness can be high and alcohol will vary. Zwickel Bier is similar to a Keller, but not as pronounced." - Beer Advocate. Point 2012 Black Ale 7.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Inspired by the mystery of the ancient Mayan 'Long Count' round calendar, Stevens Point Brewery's brewmasters have created 2012 Black Ale, a dark, robust brew to satisfy beer lovers' tastes any day of the year. 2012 Black Ale's ingredients include pale, Munich and roasted malts, Cluster and Cascade hops from the Pacific Northwest and Saaz hops from the Czech Republic. In addition to the Mayan calendar mystery, 2012 Black Ale is inspired by traditional German 'schwarzbier', or black beer. German-style schwarzbiers typically are lagers, but we saw this beer is an opportunity to be more creative. We brewed our interpretation of black beer as an ale, which means more hops as well as fruity notes that come from using an ale yeast. The use of roasted malts adds a slightly burnt character to the beer.

Abita Varieties 7.99/6-pack 12 oz. bottles
Brewery notes: "Turbodog is a dark brown ale brewed with Willamette hops and a combination of pale, crystal and chocolate malts. This combination gives Turbodog its rich body and color and a sweet chocolate toffee-like flavor. Great served with hamburgers or sausages. Restoration Pale Ale is made with Pale, Lager, Crystal and Cara Pils malted barley. It is liberally hopped and dry hopped with American Cascade and fermented with California Ale yeast. The end result is a brilliant gold ale with a rich body, mild bitterness and a snappy fresh citrus hop flavor and aroma. The citrus flavor and aroma make it an excellent choice with most fish. Purple Haze is a crisp, American style wheat beer with raspberry puree added after filtration. Therefore, you may see raspberry pulp in the beer. The raspberries provide the lager with a subtle purple coloration and haze, a fruity aroma, and a tartly sweet taste. This beer is best served with salads or light fruit desserts. Abita is located in the sleepy area between Covington and Abita Springs, Louisiana, which is just across the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway from New Orleans.
