Winery notes: " The 2011 Zinfandel is ruby red in color with high-toned nose of currants, red raspberry, wild strawberry, and Asian spice with a touch of dusty earth. Medium bodied flavors of red raspberry and currant follow through with hints of baking spice, citrus and garrigue. Finishes long and lean. 4000 cases made."

Winery notes: "This vintage of Director's Pinot Noir blends grapes from Carneros, which produces fruit with spice and earth notes, with grapes from the Russian River Valley, an area known for creating rich, dense wines noted for bright cherry and cranberry flavors. As a result of combining fruit from two appellations, we designate this wine Sonoma Coast. Both of these regions experience a cool climate and fog that rolls in from the coast, conditions that favor Pinot Noir. Our 2010 Director's Pinot Noir boasts an intense perfume of fresh strawberries, orange peel and tea leaves, while the silky texture accentuates sweet, luscious flavors of raspberries, cherries, cloves and spicy oak."

Tasting notes: "The 2010 Angels Landing Cabernet Sauvignon, with its ripe black fruits and tannic structure tastes like a hypothetical blend of a rich valley floor Cabernet from Oakville and a structured Howell Mountain Cabernet. Aromas of blackberries on the nose. On the palate there is black currant, some cassis, dark chocolate, mocha, and good structure. The finish is long with tannins that are silky with some of the cassis fruit mixed in."

Tasting notes: "Angels Landing has become a household name for great quality just like Robert Mondavi, Joseph Phelps, etc. Not only do they make a great Napa Cabernet for the money, a Napa Merlot made more in the style of Pomerol, but also this Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that drinks more like a $30 bottling. Packed with plenty of ripe cherries, blackberries, and plum. Very silky on the mid-palate and the finish. It also is not overdone with the oak. Just the great fruit flavors you get from ripe Pinot Noir."

Josh Cellars Chardonnay 2011 14.99/750 ml.
Winery notes: "Ripe Citrus summer fruit, peach, pear, aligned with a touch of vanilla and smoke, partially barrel fermented. This classic North Coast Vineyards Chardonnay offers inviting stone fruit aromas, accented by notes of tropical fruit. The well-balanced acidity supports a core of pear and sweet melon and complements a creamy texture. The wine has a clean, refreshing finish. The Culprit Sonoma County Red 2010 16.99/750 ml.
The Culprit is a blend predominantly of Syrah, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah, with six other varietals thrown into the mix to give it plenty of complexity. Like the highly successful 2009 vintage, 2010 is a big, bold, and intense wine. Tasting notes: "Rich and deeply concentrated with ripe raspberries, black cherries, briary spice, and silky tannins. There is a long finish with more raspberries and a nice elegant structure on the finish that should blossom with even more fruit flavors and spice after it's been opened."
