Domaine St. Anne Picpoul De Pinet 2011 11.99/750 ml.
Tasting notes: "Bright and fresh. Aromas of flowers, citrus fruits, aniseed and fennel. The flavors are sharp and clean with nuances of melons and peaches with a back end of minerality. A wonderful wine to have as an aperitif with cold seafood salads, California rolls or soft, runny cheeses and can be enjoyed with lighter dishes as well." Here's how Sally Easton (Master of Wine, Winewisdom.com) says it: "Picpoul de Pinet is one of those French wine appellations, and grape varieties, once discovered, long-loved. For a grape variety grown in the warm, sunny Mediterranean, inland from Sete, it has remarkable freshness and citrus-vivacity."
